about

Jeff Kutash (b. 1945) is an American dancer and choreographer, working with such names as James Brown, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, John Travolta, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Cher and Jerry Lewis.

By 1979 he secured himself a deal with Casablanca Records and recorded an album, produced by Donna Summer's sound engineer Jürgen Koppers and arranged by Thor Baldursson (Disco Bones and Whack Attack by Al Delory). The musician was a solid selection of Ed Greene & Keith Forsey on drums, Jerry Hey on brass, and Greg Mathieson on keyboard. The backing vocals were done by the Waters sisters and Stephanie Spruill who had also backed Donna Summer on her #1 album Bad Girls.

Kustash's album was released in March 1980 featuring a cover of the Jackson 5's Dancing Machine, but tanked in the middle of the disco backlash and Casablanca's internal struggles. No singles were released from it. It may not be a masterpiece but it provides enough pleasant listening.
